Victorian Christmas a Big Success - December 3, 2016
The weather was perfect!  Kids and parents were able to experience Christmas cheer inside the John Tigard House. Decorations filled the house and Santa was available for pictures next to the Christmas Tree in the parlor.  Kids made tube sock snowmen to take home and put under the tree or on their night stand.  THA thanks all who attended.  Click on the photo below to see all the photos and download your favorites for free by right clicking on an image and choosing "Save as" or by clicking on the three vertical dots in the top right of the screen.

Tigard Street Fair - September 10, 2016
Tigard Historical Society members greeted Street Fair sun drenched visitors in downtown Tigard all day Saturday.  THA handed out free refrigerator magnets and pens.  We will see you all at the Apple Harvest Festival on September 17 at the John Tigard House 10310 SW Canterbury St.

Tigard Street Fair

The John Tigard House played host to visitors from Illinois
Descendants of Wilson and Mary Ann Tigard through their daughter, Frances Tigard Marion Smith or Fannie as she was called.  A great-grandson of Fannie, along with his wife, are visiting their son and daughter-in-law who live in Washington. They all came down to tour the Tigard House and share some family history.  "We had a great visit!”

Ice Cream Social - July 16, 2016
The forecast of uncertain weather required us to postpone the event for a week, however this in turn gave us a glorious day! We served ice cream to over 100 guests, including our special visitors from Bonaventure Senior Living of Tigard.

There was something to suit all ages!  Mr. Curtis Tigard made an appearance and was quite happy to enjoy a bite of ice cream with folks young and old.  Children were able to take part in pioneer games, including writing witquill pens, which was a favorite among many.  There was a station to do a bit of laundry using good old fashioned muscle power in buckets, a wash board, and a wringer.  We even had an old fashioned photo booth available for guests to have their picture taken dressed in attire that you would find Tigard residents wearing in 1880.

You can view and download photos taken by Mike McInnis free!  Click on the photo below to see all the photos and download your favorites for free by right clicking on an image and choosing "Save as" or by clicking on the three vertical dots in the top right of the screen.
